There are a lot of cafes on Piedmont Avenue, so it can be hard to choose, but Tea on Piedmont stood out to me with its minimalist aesthetic, quality drinks, and variety of other products for sale including fine chocolates, baked goods, and plant-based snacks! Walking in on a Sunday morning, the place was very spacious and empty. I tried the Hojicha latte with boba ($7) which was ready in just a few minutes. It tasted very refreshing, not too sweet, and lightly caffeinated which was just what I was looking for. The boba was very chewy too. Overall a hidden gem!

Clean and peaceful. The interior of this well run shop really brings peace. It is uncluttered and surfaces are simple and clean. I went for an iced latter and it was as expected. My daughter had a strawberry milk which was exactly that rather than loads of syrup So yah and thumbs up. There is a small high level worktop facing the kitchen where you sit if perching is your jam. Sitting is not of plenty which adds to this idea of space.

I love the space, which is clean, open and airy. I saw a few people studying/reading/working. A great place to hang out and enjoy the A/C on a hot day. I had the oolong macadamia nut milk tea and my friend had the hojicha. I loved them both! The oolong was strong, which I loved. And even though I didn't adjust the sweetness level it was the perfect amount of sweetness. I'd compare it to 50% sweet at other boba places. They offer some cute baked goods, and it looks like it varies week to week. Bathroom is clean. Nice, simple, solid hangout spot!

I've been here four times now and overall this place is one of my top cafes in East Bay! There's WiFi (though when it gets busy, there are times when I can't even join the network) Drinks: 3.5/5 - nothing tastes bad, but I wouldn't really recommend getting their matcha drinks despite how many people recommend it. I can't really taste the matcha and it just feels like I'm drinking sweetened milk. I've also tried their hojicha, which is quite good but just felt a bit watered down. I would recommend the JOCO latte! Ambiance: 5 - I love the aesthetic and vibes here! There's a lot of natural light so it always feels bright and airy in here. There are a few tables but these are usually taken. The people working here are also really friendly. Tip: it's next to Ebiko which has really yummy sushi. I've noticed people bring in their food from Ebiko and eat it here.
